Izabell's First Two Weeks

It has been 2 weeks since little Izzy was born. It has been quite the ride! She is such a good baby and we just can't get enough of her. We love to watch her wake up from her naps. She goes through so many different stretches and facial expressions.

We have lots of visitors. And she does really well with everyone she meets!

We got home on the 9th and she slept pretty good the first night. We weren't sure what to expect but it went a lot smoother than we thought it would!

On the 11th, Izzy had her first doctor appointment. She had left the hospital weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and at the doctor she was back up to 7 lbs 6 oz (good eater). Her length was 20 inches. The pediatrician said she was growing very well and she looked wonderful! After the visit to the doctor Izzy got to go to Target for the first time. She slept the whole time.

On Wednesday we took our first trip to Cabela's. Once again she slept the whole time. We made a couple other stops and she never woke up. Such a good baby!

On the 14th, I had to go see the hematologist so grandma came over to babysit. She slept the whole time we were gone.

On Saturday, Justin's family was having their annual cookie baking day. We decided we would venture out and go for a visit. We had a good time visiting with everyone and decorating a lot of sugar cookies. Izzy got lots of love and enjoyed her time.

On the 18th, Izzy had her second doctor appointment. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and is now 20 1/4 inches long. She is growing just the way she should be. Her doctor said we could start tummy time each day for 30-35 minutes throughout the day. She also had to have her second PKU test. My poor baby had to have her heel pricked to draw blood. I don't like hearing her cry like that, but it only lasted a second and she quieted back down. After her appointments we decided to spend some time shopping on Main St. in Grapevine. We also made a few other stops on our way home. Little girl slept all afternoon.

We are having so much fun with Izabell. It is fun to just sit and watch her. She loves to chill with daddy and watch cartoons. She is very alert and watches you very closely. We started tummy time and she holds her head up very well. She likes her tummy time but starts to get a little frustrated after a few minutes. But she does well!
