This year was Izzy's first "official" Christmas. Last year she was only 3 weeks old so she slept the whole time. And we didn't get to see Justin's family last year because Justin had a fever and was stuck in bed. So this year was exciting!
We spent Christmas Eve with Justin's family in Azle. We draw names every year and then we each buy a stocking stuffer for each family member. We had a great evening with everyone. Izzy enjoyed playing with her cousin Samantha and opening up all her presents and getting into everyone else's presents. She really started getting the hang of it after a few! We played Bingo and I won twice and got to pick 2 prizes! We were all playing with 2 boards and started to run out of Bingo chips so we started to use chex mix instead. Izzy started to get tired so it was time to head home. Justin and I still had Christmas presents to put together!
By the time we got there everyone already had presents passed out and were munching on breakfast and sipping on their mimosas. We made Izzy a waffle and Justin got the Cinnamon Roll Waffles started. Once we all got our breakfast we settled in to start opening presents. We always start with the youngest and each open one gift at a time. My parents like to see what everyone gets. :) Izzy really started having fun. She would squeal each time she would get the paper off a box. She ended up playing with everyone else's stuff and making the rounds to pick up bows and paper. After gifts, Kent & Lauren loaded up and headed back home so that they could have their Christmas with the girls. We stayed and had lunch with my parents. After lunch we headed home and all 3 of us passed out in the living room.
That evening we headed over to Kent & Lauren's to have Christmas with Carol and the girls. While we were there, we penguined Lauren's house. Justin and I had also penguined my parent's house on behalf of Uncle Barry and Aunt Gale. The penguin is a whole other post. The girls had fun opening their presents and watching Izzy open the gifts they got for her.
It was a long couple of days, but they were fun! Can't wait to do it again next year!
