1 Year!

You are 1 year old!  We can't believe it has already been a year, and we made it!  :)  This year has been a blast and we would not change a single minute of it!  You make us laugh all the time and we just love your sweet little personality.  Your hugs and head butt kisses are the best.  We can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!

Here is what you have been up to:

  • You have started walking!  You aren't running around the house yet, but you will move from one toy or piece of furniture to the other.
  • You have started to fall over when you are in your crib and laugh when you do.
  • You like to blow kisses or just make the kissing sound.
  • You talk to us all the time.  We talk back to you and you laugh or get louder.
  • You talk a lot with your hands and make big gestures like you are saying something very important.  It is adorable.
  • You hug anything that is soft and pet it gently.
  • You have figured out how to turn lights off and you must do it each time we leave a room.
  • We have started giving you baths in the big tub and you are really enjoying it.
  • You like to knock over towers of blocks and start clapping and laughing when they fall.
  • You have started eating all table food and not baby food.  You aren't a fan of being fed.  You like to feed yourself.  So you pick up all your food now.  We will give you a spoon and you are starting to understand what it does.  You put food on it and then take it off and put it in your mouth.  At least you know it goes on the spoon!
  • Some favorite foods: Spaghetti, Chicken, Blueberry Waffles, Muffins, Apples, Bananas, Banana Bread, Zucchini Bread, and pretty much anything we put in front of you.  You love to eat!
  • You push everything around the house.  And you like to put things on top of other things to push around.  One day you were pushing an empty box around and then decided to get a package of baby wipes and put the wipes on top of the box to push both of them into the living room (smarty pants).
  • You have started a new thing where you will take some blocks or small toys and put them in the bucket and then take them out again and put them in and take them out.  You will do this over and over again.  Or you will put them on the table and take them off the table.
  • You let us brush all 7 of your teeth.  After we are done, we will give you the toothbrush and tell you to brush your teeth and you put the toothbrush in your mouth.
Doctor Visit:

The doctor said you looked wonderful!  You are growing very well and meeting all the milestones you should be.  We are now able to move you to Whole Milk once we have finished off the formula we have.  And you can start having more of the foods we eat like peanut butter, honey, and other things that used to be hard for little babies to digest.

Stats:

Weight:  21lbs 12 oz
Height:  30 in.
