The surgery went very well. She was only away from us for an hour and a half. After surgery we were allowed to carry her back up to her room. Mama got to have some snuggle time when we got back.
At 5:00 we were allowed to start her feedings. She was only allowed one ounce at this feeding. Poor baby was still so tired her eyes stayed closed most of the time. We sat with her upright afterward for about 45 minutes and then put her back in her bed to sleep. Well, that didn't work out so well and everything came back up. The nurse said there was probably still some stuff in her tummy from before the surgery and the next one would probably be better.
Little girl slept about 3 hours and started waking up for her next feeding. She was still only allowed one ounce. She ate it (half asleep) and kept it all down! Yay! Two hours later she finally woke up like she used to and was very ready for her next feeding. She was allowed two ounces this time and loved every last drop. Poor thing hasn't had anything to eat since Wednesday at 11:00 pm. Only the fluids through her IV. So it has been a relief to see her eat and finally keep it all down. It has been a few days since we have seen that. She will be able to eat again in three hours and allowed two ounces. After that feeding she will be able to get back on her normal feeding schedule (hope she hasn't forgot!).
We will be able to take her home on Friday morning. Yay, no more wires to have to work around! She has a small 'u' shape incision above her belly button and one under the skin where they expanded the muscle. It seems to only bother her when we have to sit her up to burp. So far she has been very content and has not needed any pain medicine. What a trooper!
We are so grateful for all of the wonderful doctors and nurses that have made this scary process much easier! I have been a basket case since we found out she would have surgery and the doctors here really calmed me down. Can't thank everyone enough! And thank you to everyone for your prayers!
This picture is after we got back to our room and she was snuggling with mama. Love my little munchkin!

Thank you Mrs. Paula! We are so happy to be back home and that Izzy is keeping her food down. It is nice to start getting back to our routine. We hope all is well with you and the family! Thank you again for all of your prayers!
